Late Evergarden is a self insert original character i have created
I wanted to create a character to create universe and story around for my storytelling throught art and escape to own universe from reality.

Race - Half moon/wood elf

Birthday - 4th of april
Her personality is really calm and rathers to be on her own, she is very introverted and quiet, but she does care for her family and people at her kingdom. She is not cold by any mean, she just does not know how to show emotions that well, she may look scary and emotionless but she is actually an caring type. She can have a sweet smile but it is rare to see from her. She is the mature one of the group, always looking after others and speaks people out of stupid things, but she is ready to pick an fight if her friends are threatened or being mean to. She is an great listener because she is not an talkative person, if there is an worry in mind, she listens to you. she is sleepy person, likes napping when time is right, she enjoys her quiet time.
She is half wood/moon elf, her mother is moon elf and father is wood elf,
moon elves are more sophisticated, she grew in the woods because her father is an wood elf and he teach her to hunt, fight etc, not so sophisticated is it. Wood elves are more down to earth of course, hunt, garden, taking care of the nature etc, she does lean more on that side, even her faith is not for the Silvanus, the god of the wild nature, she loves nature, and does everything to keep it save like others.
About her family, she is an warrior, daughter of the general of kingdom of moonside soldiers and knights, she still prefers to fights alone even her father tells her otherwise, she really does not like when someone tells what to do and what not. Her father tries his best to keep her save and on her full potential as an warrior, he may keep being strict with her when it comes with fighting and other things, it may be because he is an general and has high hopes of his daughter.
Her mother is the intellectual of the family, she works as an professor, if help is needed, people goes to her, she really wants that Late would be more sophisticated like other moon elves and would stay home save in the kingdom, like an caring mother who just wants her children to stay save and sound. But Late does not listen, because of that she travels around Evergarden to chase and hunt down all the enemies who has find their way there

Her weapon of choice is an greatsword, she prefers bigger weapon so it matches her body balance while fighting, due her left arm being much weaker she needs an extra help, so she decided to do little changes, the base of the blade has an little wooden handle made out of dead roots of elder tree, she can hold onto it to make more powerful and secure moves, she is able to only hold the handle with the other hand and use her other hand for elemental attacks at the same time.
Besides melee she uses elemental powers, she got them from the curse, at first she did not know how to control them but along the years she have learned to field them.
Power of the dusk demons she got the curse from, were yellow/ash ish at first, but her moon elven blood and genes changed them blue and white to protect her more from the power she were not able to control.

Moonlight butterflies - She can summon moonlight butterflies, great for light source, distraction, heal and more, even little friends for the journey.
Moon cutter - An normal melee attack she does with her greatsword
Moonlight claw - An elemental attack that is useful for ranged attacks, sharp claw that uses sharp slashes at the target.
Moon landing - An mid-air attack that strikes the ground below, dealing AoE damage to enemies in a certain radius, in impact it makes sends waves of light and butterflies that can slash like an sword. The higher she starts the plunging attack, the greater the chance it has of dealing more damage.

Her home is Evergarden, land of two moons, wooden realm, land of elves, however you want to call it. She is from `Moongrove` which is located in the west of evergarden.
In middle of the land, there is `the elder tree of life`the one that gives ive all over the evergarden. all around the nations there is huge roots of the tree, showing that it reaches all around the land, giving life, for the nature. Evergarden is mostly heavy woodland and lakes, an ordinary dwelling of the elves, peaceful, sheltered and outsiders with no knowledge of these type of forests has a hard time navigating or gets lost easily.
Evergarden deep and dark forests symbolizes rich nature and how well it is blooming, great sources of water due the numerous lakes. Some forests are forbidding, for being overgrown into the darkness, just like elder woods.
There is 4 kingdoms in total with their own symbols
Moonside - Moon elves (moon)
Moonside is the biggest city of them all, but biggest land aswell, full of deep woods and lakes. Greatests of the forests.
Eshesari - Wood elves (sun)
Golden, warm toned area, eternal autumn, even that autumn is cooler season it i actually warmest and hot in evergarden.
Everwinter - High elves (cloud)
Brutally cold area, greatests of them all of the northern world. Land of the eternal cold. Only people who can bear cold can handle, expecially deeper parts where dragons likes to live.
Nalhona - Drows (star)
Rather rural area, elder trees roots were so badly destroyed her so it is mostly withered and abandoned, drows prefer dark places in the underdark, under nalhona.
Morning glory
"Morning glories symbolize affection, love, and the beauty of the dawn, they are often associated with a renewed sense of hope and a fresh start"
Moonflower
"Since they bloom in the darkness, moonflowers are also symbols of the ability of beauty to emerge in dark times. They can provide hope for people who are going through tough times and encourage them to seek positivity"

☾ Childhood
Child of the moon
Late, an moon/wood elf, were born in moongrove, kingdom of moon elves. Since birth every moon elf has their own signature body marks on them, and she were no expection, moon, blooming and rain is how her marks formed. Across her body, she proudly carries them with her.
Age before war
Evergarden, an ordinary dwelling of the elves, peaceful, sheltered and rich of nature. Great sources of water due the numerous lakes.
When Late grew little older, she always looked up to soldiers of her kingdom, so brave, strong and fearless. since a little kid she knew she wanted to grow up and be an soldier herself, defending the home she loved. Her mother were against it, she did not want to see her daughter in dangerous situations but her father were proud of her about wanting to do what he did.
Even that she were just a kid, she trained with her wooden carved sword she made herself, she were far too young to join army but she wanted to have an headstart.
She were quiet and distant kid, not hanging out with others, only focused on her own thing. When she were not training she did art, walked in forest and more, but she focused on training, to be strong like her father and smart like her mother.
☾ Past
Era of Moonlight in the darkness
“It happened ages ago, but when I recall it, I see it like it were yesterday.”
So begins the tale of the devastating war between good and bad.
The great war took almost everything away for a long time. This war is later know as `Great battle of the living`
When misfortune times descended on Evergarden, dawn demons attacked in mission to destroy the ´Elder tree of life´, this would destroy all nature and living of evergarden, this way they would dominate the land for themselves. Out of this came war, war that put blood against blood. Nations came together to defend their homeland, working together to save what is dear to them.
Town, cities, forests, all of them were being destroyed little by little, elves needed to act fast.
Late were an high ranked soldier, the captain, she was trained by her father because her father is an general of their kingdom.
During the war, she knew her destiny has prepared her for this moment, to defent her home, but they were too late to stop demons from destroying roots on their way.
Late were fighting her way to more deeper to the battle, she were able to knock down an enemies in front of her, but all of a sudden she sensed something coming her way, she looked up and saw an arrow. She really did not have time to react before it hit her right in the eye
She fell down on the ground with an force of the arrow, in pain she tried forcefully pull it off, it were painful, but she managed to get up.
There is something off, it did not damage the eye? But all of a sudden she felt forceful pain in that eye, it hit like an lightning, she fell on the ground again holding her eye, what is this? Then she felt the pain travel from her face through shoulder to her left arm, it travelled as an shattering ground, then the arm were covered in ash like smoke, it is painful, like getting struck by a lightning all over again.
Her right eye turned yellow and suddenly everything went blank
Next time she woke up, she were laying in middle of the battlefield, it were... quiet... peaceful, is the war finally over? Death, enemies and their own, surrounding her.
She only remembers flashes of her goin feral and attacking the enemies like an animal.
She got up and looked around her, so much death, so much bloodshed, at least it is over...
she looked down at her hand that now is looking weird, scarred and burnt.
That is all she remembers.
After the battle, half of the kingdom is unsure about her... after what happened, she now possesses powers of demons, their enemies, the ones they want gone.
Half of the kingdom were against her and even scared, they do not trust her wanting her gone, she saved so many people and fighted for the kingdom, why they treat her like this now? All changed in a day, she is no hero but a monster, seen as the bad omen.
Of course not everyone is like that, other half of the kingdom is on her side, it is not her fault, she did everything she could to defend the kingdom.
Afterwards she get herself an army and went around the kingdom to hunt for the rest of the demons who were hiding after the war, blood were shed, even the innocent, she did not care, the anger inside her were too strong to care, she needed to get rid of the rest after what they did to her home and her, they are the reason all this happened, there is no going back, ever.
After she get rid of the anger of what have happened to her home, she did not how to feel, sadness? regret? did she really need to do all that?
This were no longer war, but an uneasy settlement that seems impossible to resolve.

Life of the new norm
Late has learned to control the new found power, her moon elf genes are protecting her from the curse to go further and the powers have turned blue ish white, like an moonlight in the night. Her eye is mostly white, cloudy colour, it almost left her right eye blind, Her hand is still more physically weaker because of it but she is used to live with it now. She needed to do some adjustments to her weapons and some day to day things because of all this but her life has repaired into better.
After half of an century, everything has gone almost back to normal, nature is blooming, citites has been rebuild and full of life and people are continuing their lives. The enemies still finds their way to evergarden, but soldiers all around are taking care of them, one way or another.
During the time of silenced years after war, Late has been needing to become one with this new norm, during these years she basically has locked herself out of the kingdom awaqy from it and family in fear of hurting someone by accident, countless of breakdowns in her cottage that leaves it in mess, trying to scratch her arm and eye until they are blood and flesh trying to get it off but it does not happen, but surprisingly enough, those always heal in no time. Along the years she has gotten used to this new norm.
☾ Now
Era of an wanderer
After all these years, she is now an wandering warrior, hunting for the demons who has found their way to their home, she is not so bound to the army anymore and rather work alone. She has visited an seamstress and tailored an custom armor and outfit for herself, not only wanting to seem different from the army but camouflage into the nature, to pray on her targets. She enjoys to be on her own, calm, quiet, no one to bother her. She is now part of the ¨Er randirs¨ which means ¨Lone wanderers¨, people who abandoned their past and homes to be hunters. Now she sees evergarden more, all the places and corners, and what the great war has done. She is seeing this as an an opportunity to clean her home from the pest and to see the world around her.

"Why these design choices?"
Character - This character is based on me, i created her for the first time as an elementary school student, and she has been with me since
An elf - Since when i were little i always found elves amazing and fascinating, especially after lotr, the hobbit movies, skyrim and legend of zelda
Colour palette - Colours shows my favourite colours and tones, blue and green that are muted, others are for the nature palette i do like
Eyes - Why one eye is clouded and with the curse? For years i were basically half blind to see that i needed help with my mental health, i knew it, but i did not understand it at the time
Arm - Left arm being scarred by the curse, it already explains a lot that i did struggle a lot with my mental state, do not worry, i did not do anything even i had many moments of strong thought, the powerful hand in the lore symbolizes my strength to keep going even after these years, making it my strongest power
Raindrops - Raindrops in the design shows my love for rain
Butterflies - There really is not that good of an reason for the butterflies other than they are beautiful part of nature
Long skirt - My character has an long skirt instead of an armour because in real life i do enjoy wearing long skirts and dresses a lot, it also is for the elegant look and is designed after flowers that has not bloomed yet
Little armour - Armour is great for protection, but she prefers not to have much of it for more easier movement and light weight, dexterity and being quiet in hunt is important
